Nirvana was the last name the group ever used-- sure they had other names previously, but this one was final and was never changed. When Cobain died, the band disbanded, and bass player Krist Novoselic went on to play in a handful of other indie bands (he currently plays for the band Flipper) and drummer Dave Ghrol went on to form the rather successful hard rock band called The Foo Fighters.
