It really depends on what you need the computer to do. You can't really have a all powerful computer in all aspects of the computing world. Some computers are designed for game playing, others are design for database processing, other are designed for video and graphic editing. You can't have it all in one computer. If you know how, you're far much better off building your own computer and configuring it to your needs. (Or have somebody do it for you.) Most "Walmart" computers are sufficient enough for word processing, but lacks the hardware for intensive gaming.
