Alice in Chains is one of my favorite bands. Layne really just lends so much depth to all the lyrics. If you enjoy Alice in Chains that much, check out their Unplugged 1996 concert. Similar bands include: Pearl Jam and Mad Season, and Temple of the Dog.
I don't believe there was one. Chris Cornell, from Soundgarden and Audioslave fame was in a band called Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder sang on the track Hunger Strike. Eddie has also collaborated with the likes of Cornell on other tracks as well as Layne from Alice in Chains. As for a STP and Pearl Jam thing, I am not to sure.
Sound garden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Mother love bone, Candlebox, Temple of the Dog, Screaming Trees, Demon Hunter, Queensryche, Heart
