I'm not sure who you mean by "the Rod Stewart Band". Rod Stewart has been a singer for more than 40 years now. Rod was the singer with the Jeff Beck Band and the Faces in England in the '60s. Both bands existed before he joined them, so they would have had other singers. Rod started singing solo in 1969, and anything calling itself the "Rod Stewart Band" would probably have been just his back-up band, so he would have been the singer.
