In the Haynes Repair Manual, book number 68031 for 1995-2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talon. Look in Chapter 12 page 39, wiring diagrams 1 and 2.
i believe the preset buttons (where you save your stations) represent the numbers in your code, provided you have the code. if not, you have to contact a dealer and prove you own the car. in some cases (well most), you'll have to pull the radio and give them the serial number off of it for them to provide a code. then you only have 3 tries i believe, after that it will lock out for a longer period of time.

As far as I know you can't. If you need engine codes ran and are too cheap to take it to get a full diagnostic, take it to Autozone. They will run the codes for you free of charge and tell you what they mean.
