Syrinx by Debussy, and Fantasie by Faure. There are lots of famous pieces. One of the most popular is James Galway's version of John Denver's Annie's Song. There are many, many, many pieces written for flute; especially for solo flute and piano, as well as for two flutes.
My personal favourites are:
Teleman's Suite in A minor
Mozart's Concerto in D Major
Cecile Chaminade's Concertino
and any Bach, Loeiltte or Devienne Sonata
There's a surprisingly small amount that was originally written for flute. Bach wrote several well-known pieces for flute, like his sonatas. The Faur'e Fantasy is also well-played, and the Firebird suite has a really famous flute part in it, even though it's for orchestra. The Peter and the Wolf flute part is also part of most flute players' repertoire, but I don't think that it's paid much attention to by the rest of the music community.
the marriage of figaro magic flute don Giovanni
Jean Michelle Jarre Oxygene
I can't answer that because he made 626 compositions. BUT..... one of his most famous compositions of all times is the Magic Flute.
Both Syrinx or the flute solo from l'après midi (both incidentally by Debussy) are quite famous.
Tchaikovsky is one of the most famous composers whom was a flute player. He composed may famous orchestral flute suites and ballets such as the Nutcracker Suite and Swan Lake.
