What are some pros and cons of the Gibson Explorer or X-Plorer Guitar?

I fnd that the explorer is a very versitle guitar. I can use it to play metal one second then the next I'll be playing something very calm and nice. And it all sounds good. Flip the switch down to the pickups for a drastic change in sweet tone. The neck feels very good in my hands and is very comfortable. I love the body style, the vintage, outlaw look. Something very different than what you usually see. One downside is that the body shape is also very uncomfortable when sitting down, although if you can manage to place it between your legs it is still a little uncomfortable. All in all, if i had the money, a black explorer with an ebony fretboard and some emgs would be all mine.

Its a process you need to be familiarized with different guitars so you can buy one you feel good with, So, tour some guitar stores take your time just to get the idea of different guitars. ask for help: some one who can take an hour to discuss different qualities with you (sound, playability, construction, reliability, price,) be sure to try a high end guitars (gibson, fender) you may not buy one but youll know what to expect from a good guitar also ask about the set up of the guitar you are playing on. Dont forget the amplifier. a guitar cant function without it if you cant afford a good one at least check your guitar on a good one ! Take your time make a list of pros and cons. when you learn to appreciate different guitars you are ready good luck.
