Uganda is in a tropical region, but it has relatively high rainfall in some regions, and its higher altitude is good for growing tea.

Uganda borders Kenya, which has one of the most vibrant and thriving tea industries anywhere in the world. Kenya is a hot spot of development of new cultivars of tea. Uganda, being near Kenya and in a similar climate zone, is poised to benefit from the developments happening in Kenya both because of the proximity and ease of transport between the two areas, and because the new cultivars and varietals of tea being developed for use in Kenya are likely to grow well in similar climate zones in Uganda as well.

Uganda also might attract higher prices for its teas due to the novelty factor, appealing to people wishing to try teas from new regions.

several advantages accrue to engaging in agriculture in uganda, these include

1. High output because of the fertile soils and the conducive weather.

2. Availability of the market, especially if you pick on the right crops,

2. High income, especially when the farmer is organically certified, due to high profits fetched on the international market.

However, agriculture has some pitfalls in Uganda;

1. Little or inadequate funding for agricultural entrepreneurs in the start up category

2. Lack of adequate cold storage facilities to keep fresh produce for long

3. High freight costs for perishable agricultural products.
