Although this is in contrast to earlier work with lyric that declared "Jesus Slaves" Type O Negative's music delt with lots of different subject matter including making a deal with the devil to return a dead loved one on Halloween Night, and a girl struggling to come to grips with her sexual desire verses her religious beliefs that lead her to fantasies about sex with Jesus. These subjects may make them Non-church friendly but I would never limit them to a "devil worshiping group"
