∙ 14y agoThey aren't a Christian band, they aren't a Satanic band. They say they're a square peg that no one can put in a round hole.. They consider themselves to be a defined sound. they have their own thing going, no labels to it. They are Devildriver.
The name "Devildriver" actually describes a bell that was used to drive demons away.
"What with this and the fact that Devildriver's name derives from ancient prayer bells that were used to drive away evil spirits, it comes as no surprise to learn that Dez's lyrics are littered with references to spirituality." That was a quote from Tom Day's interview with Deveildriver from December 2005.
The song "The Axe Shall Fall" basically talks about how all will pay for their sins.
