Is Zendaya an alto

Well it says the approximate range for an alto is around f3 to f5, and on a website, it stated her range on her album was D3 to E5 (just counting full voice). She also had a rich/low sort of tone when I heard her singing with Max and Kurt on YouTube. If D3 is her low note, that's lower than mezzo soprano according to Wiki, let alone soprano. So, I'm guessing as of right now (she's young and probably has more growth in skill and voice to come) she would be considered alto.

Zendaya‘s sings in a very soft and sweet configuration. This Is the signature sound of her singing style. She mainly sings pop songs that dont require extra range that are considered difficult, so timbre variety doesn’t matter in her case. However, considering she has quite the depth inside the tone of her voice, and has a range where she caps off at around e5 in a “full sounding” voice; Im very skeptical that she’s anything other than a mezzo soprano. Her lower voice down to E3 is quite rich. she doesn’t have a lot of agility. She has no ring in the upper part of her voice and tends to stay within the middle of her range (f4-c5) with a somewhat light and pushed quality. This “pushed” quality is what makes me skeptical about her voice being a lightweight instrument. When I first heard her voice it reminded me of another singer Anastasia’s light head voice which has the same characteristics as Zendaya’s. However, Anastasia has a very rich and powerful chest voice, which is technically that of a dramatic mezzo soprano. Zendaya barely sings with chest voice most of the time, mostly staying in a light “heady” placement. With more technical training to her voice, Zendaya may be a heavier mezzo soprano instrument; it’s just that she doesn’t have the technical prowess to go into different areas of her voice with strength and durability. Nonetheles, she has an interesting voice that is easy on the ears and easy to produce (technique wise).
