The Fray do not consider themselves a Christian band, because as they truly are Christian, they wanted to use their music to reach out to the non-Christian people and lead them to God. The members of the group, though, are all Christian, and their musical background is in Church Worship Groups. Their lyrics do not openly allude to God, but, the message is there.

In addition to this The Fray has appeared on national Christian radio station WAY-FM on at least one occasion.

Yes they are.

Their lyrics have a Christan feel to it.

For example, From 'you found me': 'I found God'.

And their songs have a Christan like meaning to them.

How to save a life for example: It talks about trying to save someone's life, by bringing them to God.

So yes, they are a Christan piano rock band.
