If you watch Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny with the director's (Liam Lynch) commentary on, during the Master Exploder scene Liam mentions that the guitar Kyle plays that looks like a woman's legs spread apart was actually a guitar that was constructed specifically for the movie and that it did not actually work.

Yea but some famous dude (dont know who) actually had a Dean guitar like that, just not the legs, and successfully played it
