I think not, but I've heard of a Catholic priest who didn't give a Catholic woman and a Protestant man permission to get married before the man promised that their future children would be raised Catholic.
No one has to be baptised Catholic although I strongly suggest that you do so. That is totally absurd. The answer is YES. Plain and simple. All catholic parents have a requirement to baptise their children as catholics. Furthermore, if a parent is married to a non-catholic, which they should not be, then the only way their marriage can be blessed is if the catholic spouse vows to raise the kids catholic. Otherwise, as catholics, you are commiting a mortal sin by not protecting the souls of your children. That is the reason the priest made them promise. The protestant spouse may have also been told that they need to convert.
She was raised Roman Catholic and attended Catholic school.
Céline is a roman catholic.
Catholic. Its actually Roman Catholic!!
She is a Roman Catholic.
Yes. She was raised as a roman catholic, she had a catholic wedding ceremony, as well as a catholic baptism for her son. I would call that a catholic. There seems to be some debate as to how devout she is. Some say she is a "non-practicing" catholic. She practices IVF and is therefore not a Catholic by any stretch of the imagination.
No you cannot be a Godparent if you are not a Roman Catholic. I guess the parents of the child have not consulted the priest before asking you. The moment they approach the church they will have to name another God parent who is baptised in the Roman Catholic Church.
The motto of Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg is 'Making a difference in the lives of children.'.
yes
It is generally permissible but each school has a different policy. Catholic students, of course, would receive the first option to enroll and then others if there are vacancies. The fact that you are not a Catholic will probably not exempt you from taking theology classes required of all other Catholic students, however.

A:A Catholic is someone who belongs to, or accepts the teachings of, the Roman Catholic Church. He or she will no doubt have been christened, but so are members of other Christian Churches.Catholic AnswerA Catholic is someone who has been baptized in the Catholic Church, OR someone who has been validly baptized outside the Church in the name of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) with water running on the forehead, or immersion, and with the intention to do what the church does. In the later case, that person would have to be accepted into the Church by a formal act and be confirmed by the bishop. I guess it really depends on what you mean by "christened".
Roman Catholic AnswerYou need the pastor of your home parish to approve you to have your baby baptized. He can make arrangements if you wish to have your baby baptized in another church.
The Roman Catholic Church recognizes as Also Catholic the Orthodox Churches, Episcopal, and Church of England. Also, these religions recognize the Roman Catholic Church. While all schools have their own rules for admission, there should be no religious reasons why your Catholic child could not attend a Church of England school.
Roman Catholic AnswerI believe that Anglican baptisms are accepted as valid by the Church, your child would not need to be baptized again. Speak to your priest about this, depending on your child's age, they may not need to do anything.
Catholic AnswerIt's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. The primary duty of a Catholic school is to educate Catholic children in their religion while fulfilling the other educational needs. It would be pretty difficult to ensure Orthodox Catholic education by someone who believed something different.
Roman Catholic AnswerTo have your baby baptized, you need your pastor's approval. If you would like to have your baby baptized somewhere else, check with your pastor and he can arrange with the priest in the area you want to have the baptism.
