There are about 140 lakes in India. There are also hundreds of smaller lakes not considerable enough to be listed. India holds a very small percentage of freshwater. Less than 2%. The most water rich country Canada, holds about 10% of the worlds 326 million cubic miles. But the Indian ocean, part of India is the largest bay in the world, second is the Hudson bay (Canada). India should use its water wisely, to support 1.2 billion people, 1/5 of the worlds population.
