I'm attempting the same thing in my Mother-In-Law's 1996 Hyundai Accent. I've found that you need to start by removing the ashtray to expose the 2 screws on either side of the ashtray (inside). Remove these screws, then gently pry the center dash away (some of the clips might spring, but you can replace these later.
That's as far as I have gotten so far. There seems to be another fastener someplace in the lower left portion of the center dash that holds it in place. I am working to get this removed, but to no avail.
This Might sound simple but it's a pig..... Good LUCK.
Remove the Ashtray, Remove the 2 screws in the ashtray compartment! Now you need to undo the heater control clips 2 under the drivers side then 1 behind the glovebox.(this took me 2 hours to find!!!!!!!!! Then slide center control unit out. You then have to undo the stereo retaining screws and slide the stero out.... You might have to take the cables off the clock and hazzard lights too. Replace in reverse order and hay presto you are done!!!! Shame I didnt have this info before starting!!!!! Oh well it's done now!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not see the 2 clips until I removed the cover plate under the steering wheel. Once I could see the heater control cables it was obvious what was being said. I disconnected them and the one behind the glovebox and all proceeded as stated above.
I paid a mechanic to do it for me when buying the head unit, it took him an hour including installing two speakers because he had to remove the entire heating unit... so he says to take the stock CD player out and install the new one.

Answer1. Pop out cup holder in console. Remove the 2 screws that you can see inside. 2. Now you can pop off the entire console bezel. 3. Next remove glove box by popping out the 2 black clips on each side of the glove box. The glove box will now fold down out of the way. 4. Behind glove box remove heater wire control cable. 5. Now look under drivers side dash just above gas pedal. There are 2 more heating control cables that need to be unhooked. 6. Now the entire console bezel will pull forward. 7. Disconnect electrical cables from dash clock, hazard lights, defroster, AC and fan control. 8. The bezel will now completely come off. 9. Remove 4 screws holding radilNote: The above answer is great and very thorough. I found that just going to step 2 was enough to remove my stereo, so check this first. Also, the bezel refers to the smooth part of the dashboard with the hazard light button, heater controls, air vents, clock, etc. A good way to pop it off is by gently inserting a flathead screw driver in a few places and turning.
Once you get the radio serial # (on the back of the radio or in the glove compartment) and the vehicle VIN number, you can call Hyundai Customer Service (USA - 1-800-633-5151) or (Canada - 1-800-461-8242) and they can give you the 4 digit code needed to reset the radio. This is the process I took with my 1995 Hyundai Sonata.
VLOOKUP is a function of Microsoft Excel. You can use VLOOKUP to find a value in a table or list on an Excel sheet. It looks at a value in a column and finds the corresponding value in another column in the same row.

Hyundai Excel was created in 1985.
To get the radio code for the Hyundai Excel you need to request it from Hyundai.
I had the same problem with a Hyundai Accent 1996. You need to disconnect the speedometer inside the front hood.
