when you take it out of the dash and unplug the wires you will see 2 small screws on both sides of it. Undo the screws, then get a flat head screwdriver and gently ply up on the middle of the sides of the cover. Once there slightly of you might have to undo the 2 stoppers on the top and bottom just according how you ply up the sides. The once that's done you'll be able to pull it off.
sorry, no it will not. they changed the radios in 2000. notice the face on the 2002 has round corners but the 98 has square corners. now the good news any radio out of a Dakota/ram/stratus/breeze etc from 99 back about 5-6 years will fit. I just put a 96 stratus am/FM/cass/CD in my 97 Dakota & son did the same in his 99 ram
Unscrew it at the base.
It pull's off and snaps back on.
Easy job on the 2002. Turn the two center air vents down and look inside above them. You will see a screw in each. Remove the screws and the face plate will come off. The radio is then bolted into the dash and can easily be removes. I hope no car radio theives are reading this!
