there is a bezel that needs to be taken off first. you can do this by removing the screws underneath the dashboard new the drivers seat on the right(one screw) and underneath the ashtray(2 screws)once this is done then you simply pull firmly on the sides of the bezel to unclip the plastic connectors hold the bezel in place. they will come out with a gentle tug do not snatch it off just apply even pressure as you go along the outer edges of the bezel. once the bezel has been removed you can then access the two bolts that are holding the radio in place. simply remove those and then disconnect the harness from the back of the radio as you pull it out of its location.
Here is a link that will help you: I just removed a nonworking factory CD player last week and installed a brand new one in 20 minutes total time using this site. Good luck.
you should replace the factory amplifier and that will solve your problem
I just bought a 1994 q45 and I asked the same thing. i was told that you must remove the total paneling from the front of the radio by using a butter knife or flat object to lift the panel off of the middle console around the drive stick. then you must take out the screws so that you can remove the panel from around the radio. At thi spoint you can know take out the radio.
