It's held by screws to the radiator mount. Don't try to run without it. You will overheat easily. Absolutely necessary,
There are four bolts. The left lower is very hard to access.
Talked to a mechanic and he said he DOES NOT remove the bolt. There is enough room to remove the old fan and install the new.
I have a 2001 Cherokee and the fan shroud is removed by removing two screws (one at each side) on the top of the shroud. Look under the hose that goes to the coolant overflow to find them. Once they are out the top should be free. You can then pull up a little to free the bottom tabs that just sit in slots and then it is just a matter of pulling the shroud out from around the fan. It's not that easy but it can be done.
I've just had to remove and re-install mine to replace the water pump and it's no picnic.
On mine:
A pox on whoever designed this damn thing... when mine came out the plastic tabs on top broke - I was able to pin it back in place by putting washers under the screws but having it in makes putting the fan back on about 100x more difficult than if it's off. Now I'm trying to find out if simply not putting it back in will have any negative impacts to the cooling system or if it's just a safety feature.
First remove the front clip (headlights and grille and plastic covering the bumper.) The rest will be obvious.
It is in front of the radiator.

I mean how do you disassemble the fan blower in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. how do you remove the blower fan from the car in the Grand Jeep Cherokee Laredo.
Sometimes the plug gets stuck pretty hard in the radiator and removal will damage the radiator. Just pull the lower rad hose and you will do the same thing. Even though the Plug has a rib/tab down the middle making you think it is threaded into the radiator...in reality it is just a molded plug with rubber o-rings that pushes straight in and pulls straight out. So to remove it (although it is probably better to just remove the hose) just grasp the rib and pull straight out while maybe twisting back and forth.
The fan shroud is held in place by 4 bolts. Remove those and the upper radiator hose and lift out.
It's on the radiator shroud or brace, on the right of the fan.
Remove and bring to radiator repair shop or replace at 1-800Radiator
Yes, the upper radiator support will need removed.
Remove the top part of the fan shroud,( most shroulds are two piece) unbolt the 4 bolts on the clutch and remove the clutch.

On my 2000 grand cherokee, It was in front of the battery on the fender wall. Remove battery and you should find it. It is under the bumper cover, under the passenger head light. You either have to remove the front bumper, or you remove the headlight and cut an access hole.
already have it loose
Yes, only if they have the same engine.
Should be a plug either at the bottom or rear of radiator
