To calibrate most pocket scales, you typically hold the MODE or UNIT key for several seconds until the display changes to show the internal statement number, or says "CAL". At this point, the display may change to show the required calibration weight, or you may need to tap the MODE or UNIT key once more to set the zero point first. Once the display shows the required calibration weight, you then place that exact weight on the platform and wait for it to say "PASS" automatically, or you press MODE/UNIT key to confirm. Once calibration completes, the scale will either turn off or return to normal operation. Turn the scale back on and place the same calibration weight on the platform and make sure the correct value comes up (± a division or two).
