It is not easy. You must use a Tech 2 programming tool, and the code is used during the Installation process.
In ZC, fitting a raid from new is a three step process.
1. the Radio head is installed and recognised by the vehicle ecu
2. The Display screen is installed and recognised by the vehicle ecu
3. The radio and screen are 'married' together.
All these steps are complex and must be some using the correct sequence of inputs.
If you want to change one unit, you MUST first 'divorce' the radio and screen with Tech 2, other wise you can never install the new unit. The new component must go through the marriage ceremony to be recognised and working. The radio code input is one of the marriage steps.
Even with trained operators, the Tech 2 install time for a radio and screen at the factory was 25 minutes.

There should be a white card with a radio code on it near your owner's manual. If it is not there, you must call the GM dealer and ask for the code.
There is a code inside the cover of the folder of books that came with the car and an instruction manual of how to put the code into the car
1) Turn radio off 2) Start engine 3) Press and hold down AS button 4) Turn On radio WHILE holding down the AS button until there is a beep 5) Dial the code using the 1, 2, 3, 4 keys (eg: 1234 would be 1 once, 2 twice, 3 three times and 4 four times) 6) Press and hold AS button for approx 5 seconds
Start by opening your glove box. Then remove the two screws holding the plastic panel that moulds around the radio all the way to your steering wheel. These are on the left side behind the glove compartment door. After these screws are removed, you can simply slide the large plastic piece out towards the passenger side. From here on it is simple. Unscrew the 4 or so obvious screws from the front of the radio, and gently pull the radio forward until you can reach around the back. Unplug the harness (many wires ending in a connector plugged into the back of the radio). Don't forget to use the push tab on harness to release it from the radio. Then pull out the black radio wire from the right side of the stereo. This can be snug, but has no locking mechanism or tab, so just give it a good pull. Voila, your radio is out. Now putting a new one in, that's a different question, and much more of a pain. Good luck!

Opel Zafira was created in 1999.
What is the code forCDP 2500 Radio.Locktronic code?
No water in bottle.
You'll need the radio code to do this. When you reconnect the battery the radio will display the word 'code' when switched on. The code should have been recorded in the vehicle handbook by the dealer, you enter this four digit number by using the preset keys. If you get it wrong, you will probably have three attempts. The radio will then lock out for around an hour or so. If you have lost the code you can visit the radio manufacturers website and ask for help - you will need to prove ownership of the vehicle, or a visit to the local Opel dealer may help.
There is no difference. They are the same! Opel originating in Germany for some reason chose to have different names in different markets.
