It mounts under the black cowling on the passenger side (cowling is where the windshield wipers are located). If a grand Cherokee has this filter installed you have to pull off the cowling trim seal under the hood on the passenger side only, pull up on the cowling to loosen the three passenger side cowling clips, you can then reach under the cowling to open the cabin air filter housing, remove the lid and then the old filter. This is how you install the Jeep cabin air filter kit if you purchase it from Jeep, you will need to remove the factory air inlet grill under the cowling to install the cabin air filter housing.
