Do you have a code? If not, go to page 16 of the owner's manual and you'll find the Installer's code (6-5-4-3-2-1) You enter that code with the door opened. The panel will talk to you and you can run through the system until it asks if you want to enter a security code. This talking alarm will walk you through the process. This will also let you add and delete contacts. In all cases, having the manual will help a lot. You can print an entire manual online.

The only way i found to disarm the alarm was to use the back hatch lock. lock it and unlock it a few times with the key. if this doesnt work try the door locks
I'm have the same issue, did you every get it worked out? Ken
Sorry, but gave it my best shot and couldn't find anything on how to disarm a 2001 Ford Taurus alarm system. You should have a manual to the car and if you can't find it phone the dealer. Their mechanics may even tell you and not charge you for it.
If your alarm is sounding (horn honking/lights flashing) press the panic button on your key fob to shut it off. Otherwise, the alarm is disarmed when you unlock your door(s) by using your key, keypad on the driver's door, or the unlock button on your key fob.
Alarm systems are (dis)armed (basically) by transmitting a code on a given frequency. It is insufficient to know the frequency alone.
