  1. Mozart was born in 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. His father, Leopold, was a musician and minor composer in the court of the Archbishop of Salzburg.

He had actually written a few earlier operas, but they were performed only in the Archbishop's court in Salzburg. Over his career, Mozart wrote 17 operas. The most famous include The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, and Don Giovanni.
  3. Mozart's more than 600 works include 41 symphonies, of which Eine Kleine Nachtmusic is probably the most well-known.
