Represented where? There are a number of people who could be considered representatives of the genre - Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford, Tom Araya, Cronos, Bobby Liebling, etc. And there are plenty who are falsely representing it, as well.
the origin of Priest started with Al Atkin creating a band. it wasn't Priest and the band name was unknown as far as I know. the lieup was. Bruno Stapenhill - bass Al Atkins - vocals John Perry - guitar John Partridge then join on drums. shortly after Joh Perry was killed by someone in a car trying to kill themselves. so Earnest Chataway was his replacement. few years later, Al quited the band and found some of his old school mates, Ian Hill (The Bass) John Ellis (Drummer) and Kenneth Downing (K.K.) (who was rejected from joining Al's previous group due to lack of experience). Alan "Skip" Moore would then be the drummer for priest, replacing John Ellis. a year later he was then replace by Chris Campell. What is it with Priest and drummers? amd then few years later, Campell and Al left the group, Halford joined, and Glenn Tipton became the second guitarist, duoling with K.K. so the original lineup started with Bruno Stapenhill - bass Al Atkins - vocals John Perry - guitar then it was Bruno Stapenhill - bass Al Atkins - vocals John Partridge - drums Earnest Chataway - guitar then in formation of priest Al Aktins - vocals Ian Hill - bass K.K. Downing - Guitar John Ellis - Drums, then Alan Moore, then Bruce Campell on drums, then John Hinch (once Halford and Tipton joined), Alan Moore again, then Simon Phillips, then Les Binks, Then Dave Holland (who would stay with the band for nearly 10 years) then finally Scott Travis (who's still with the group)
