It actually depends what kind of girl, so just ask. It's way easier.

Yes. A HUGE subset of the young female population likes guitar playing guys. If you are no good at sports, and generally unpopular among the ladies in school, you will certainly improve your lot by learning to play guitar. Drums and Bass Guitar are also appealing to the same subset of females, though to a lesser degree. In any case, the effect will be exponentially more pronounced if you play in a performing band, as opposed to just playing alone in your room, or jamming privately with friends.

It all depends on the girl and what kind of girl she is.

A guy who plays guitar may attract a girl or girls he may not otherwise meet. And a lot of them! That makes playing a guitar something that can be a springboard to "introductions" to girls. But if you're playing the guitar, it might be best that your primary reason for playing is personal satisfaction and the enjoyment of music. If it works as a girl magnet, so much the better.

The real deal is what else is there about you as a guitar playing guy that will interest a girl. What kinds of music do you like? And what kinds of movies? What do you watch on TV? And what do you read? What makes you curious? What do you see in girls, and in yourself? Are you a good listener? Polite? Funny? Good company? Worthy of trust? You get the picture.

You need to be you, and be working on who you are, both for yourself and for others you might be interested in. And let's be clear in closing that you are improving yourself for you and to conform to things you chose (as long as they are "fair" things). You are not becoming someone that another might want you to be, but someone you wish to become.

Well, let me tell you a story... There's a guy I know who can play a guitar really really well and he usually sings while he plays his guitar. He often wears a smirk on his face--which makes me wonder why a lot of times. Once he smirked to me while saying Hi to me when he saw me walking by. He can also write wonderfully, be it poems or verses... He reminded me greatly of my father who passed away... But it's not his guitar skills, or his singing (he doesn't sing that good anyway), or his smirk, or his writing skills--although they are big bonuses--that make me fall for him and even appreciate meeting him even though I will never have him (since he's taken, unfortunately). Instead, it's his energy and passion whenever he plays his guitar and sings and writes that make him seem so wonderful to me. It's his person, his wonderful characteristics, his caring (even though he's sometimes blunt and demanding, and some think he's prejudice), and the things he did to me when life put me down. He will never know the impact he's had on me and I will never let him know my feelings (because it will only produce harm if I confess), but he will forever stay in my heart. He makes me believe that guys like him exist...

Therefore, if he only plays guitar and does nothing else, I wouldn't have liked him.

Yeah, I like girls who can play guitar, so I'm assuming that other guys like it too.
