No. The original Olympic Games were more about prowess than skill. The games favored the strong over the precise. Originally there was only running, but later, events included wrestling, pankration (think something like MMA), discus and javelin throwing, and jumping.
Unlike football, basketball, and tennis, where there are two opposing goals, one for each team, thus two directions in the sport, sports like Golf, racing, and track and field events like pole vaulting, high jump, discus throw are one-directional.
