Did the Temptations write their own songs?

No. Most of The Temptations songs(of the old Motown record label) were written by song writers such as Holland, Dozier, and Holland. They also wrote for a lot of the other artists as well. The musicians playing on the recordings by the Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey & The Miracles, etc. were all the same fellows at "Hitsville USA," the name of the recording studios.
