Roselli HAD sung for Mrs. Sinatra before at other events and was already booked on the date of this benefit. Jimmy had always dealt directly with Dolly Sinatra in the past and asked that she call him personally. Some say Roselli was "set up". Frank Sinatra was mistakenly told that Roselli refused to perform. After that happened, Jimmy Roselli's career stagnated. It was rumored Sinatra had radio stations stop playing Roselli's records and certain clubs and other venues wouldn't hire him.
