You can drive the Jeep with the faulty sensor, but you have the risk of screwing up the transmission. I wouldnt recommend driving the vehicle inless your taking it to a shop where is can be fixed. Basically what the sensor does is it tells the trans what gear it should be in. My jeep had the same problem and it felt like it had no power when taking off, and i shop where i take mine too said that i shouldnt even be driving it because eventually it will destroy the transmission.

Yes. That is most likely a sensor malfunction and will do no harm. Zero pressure is when you worry.
On Drive side It's On the bellhousing
Fix the problem and the light will reset itself after a certain number of drive cycles.
A very common problem is the oxygen sensor wires are shorting out on your drive shaft. Crawl under the jeep and look to see if your wires are rubbed bare from the drive shaft . tape the bare wires and resecure away from the driveline. this sensor shares the fuel pump/asd relay fuse...
Most likely cause is a faulty coolant temp gauge located on top of the front of the water pump, toward the front of the engine, or the water pump is bad. The fan is attached to the water pump and the drive belt rides on the water pump pulley. The reason the engine returns to normal idle when moving is that air is circulating the engine, and the coolant, and the sensor detects that the engine operating range has been reached. to fix, drain the coolant, remove the temp sensor, replace, and refill the radiator. If thsi does not solve the problem, its the water pump. Tim
