Can a Philadelphia Parking Authority Officer issue a ticket for vehicle inspection on a parked vehicle?
Apparently, Yes. I am fighting this. I received a ticket on 4/9/13 for $41, whcih apparently falls under their 12-916(2) code.
I drive a fleet vehicle, and per my corporate guidelines, must have the car inpsected by the dealer. The first appointment I could get was 4/16/13.
The PPA ticket "officer"informed me that as long as I submitted proof of inspection within 10 business days, I would not have to pay the ticket.
I did, and appealed this via the PPA website. I just received a letter saying they have denied my appeal. I am very frustrated.
Dear Mayor Nutter, If Philly seriously "loves me" and wants me to visit, why is Philly so stubborn to work with? I guarantee you I would spend more than $41 in Philly by going there for an evening out, but your policies and difficult PPA team makes me want to spend my money elsewhere.
