In my very own opinion, I do not think so . It is your choice whether or not you want to listen to it . &if you exclude yourself from certain songs or bands due to the contents in the song or whatsoever, you have the possibility of missing out on something completely rad &quite amazing . The songs from Slipknot as well as Slayer contain much emotion &the realistic side of life . Bands like so are just creating a side of music that satisfies others needs, &you could be one of those people, really . But it's just whatever . I mean personally, Slippknot &Slayer offer music that can be digested &loved by every single individual . There's nothing wrong with the type of music you listen to, it is your own choice . But here is advice, take a listen to one of their songs &you'lll be an addict for life -

No, it is not. Sinning would mean you participate in actions that go against the teachings of Jesus Christ. There is no lesson that says anything about listening to music that talks about sinning. Unless you really believe 'If you're 555 I'm 666' (a lyric from the Slipknot song The Heretic Anthem), its not a sin. Listening to and doing are two completely different dimensions. I assume you're a child and your parents said it was a sin, so if you are, i would remind them of the fact that they aren't the one's who pass judgment on you and that they should back off considering they've probly sinned thousands of times. And if they say they havn't sinned, they'd be saying they were Jesus (the only human who has never sinned), and that would be a sin.

Yes. I don't believe it says anywhere in The Bible or in the teachings of God that listening to 'vulgar' music is a sin. As long as you don't participate in the actions they sing about, you're fine.

I suppose it really depends on your point of view. There's a fair of number of Metal and Rock bands who dub themselves as being "Christian" or "White", although some of them prefer to identify themselves as secular bands, as well, because they may be members of a church which doesn't necessarily approve of their music as a way of 'delivering the message'.

Some of the more fundamental Christians believe that anything with a beat to it is evil in nature (as opposed to music driven entirely by melody).

So, you sort of have to come to your own conclusions on this one.

Well, think about what Jesus would do.

Is it clean?

There's lots of Christian rock/metal bands out there. Skillet and tobyMac are pretty popular
