If it is a 2003, then it's a GRAND Cherokee, not a Cherokee. Big difference since Cherokees do not have V8 engines and towing capacity varies greatly between V6 & V8 engines. This is not a generic question which will apply to all '03 Grand Cherokees. In order to answer your question I will need lots more information such as: engine size (V6? V8?), displacement (4.0, 4.7, 5.2), whether or not it has a tranny cooler, is it 4WD or 2WD? Does it have the Tow package? Your owners manual will help determine this. You can go to www.jeep.com give them your VIN and get information for all the factory options on your vehicle. This is important because if you have a trailer hitch it could have been added as an aftermarket option without the factory extra cooling option and so on. Take my advice & join one of the Forums I mention below. You'd be surprised how many times this question has been asked.
