They don't; when Richie Valens and other Chicano rock singers became popular during the 50's in America, the figure of the Greaser became common: Greasers had a heavy interest in cars, ladies and fights. The classic greaser is easily recognized by the distinctive black leather jacket, T-shirt, and jeans. Most greasers grew their hair longer than usual, and it was often applied with grease. Greasers listened to 1950s rock such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. Many greasers grew up to become bikers.

Right now, the terms spic or beaner (which are quite offensive, by the way) are more commonly used.
