Because Nemo Disobeyed His Dad When He Touched The Boat. By touching the boat, Nemo wanted to prove himself that he can swim well and was tired of his dad, Marlin being so overprotective. When Marlin told his son not to touch the boat and he did it anyways, he disobeyed. Therefore as a consequence, he was captured and taken to a fish tank.
