Europe does not have any major deserts because of the temperature, it is too warm for cold deserts and too cold for warm deserts. Humidity also comes into effect. These factors will not allow a desert to cover a large area. However Europe does have small deserts, and you will find some in countries such as Italy, Spain, Greece, and Portugal.

The weather in Europe is not compatible for a desert. It is much too high for a hot desert and much too low for a cold desert (in terms of latitude). There are, however, small deserts in Europe (mainly in Spain and Italy) but it is the only continent without a major desert.

The central U.S. has an almost constant inflow of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico which gives rise to thunderstorms and rain.
