The RMS Titanic liner was scheduled to dock in New York City. An announcement was made before hand for all of New York to come watch. When most of the city showed up they were sent home and told to come back the next day due to a delay. This went on for a couple of days before they were actually told of the ships demise.
Titanic was scheduled to land in New York.
The White Star Lane also had docks in Boston but the destination was New York.

the Thompson Dock was the worlds largest dry dock in 1911, so yes it was, and it helped create Titanic and its sister vessels Olympic and Britannic. :)
the titanic was built in irland in a dry dock but was not fitted out in a dry dock and like many big ships like aircraft carriers, cruise liners etc the titanic was fitted out once she was afloat, this would cut down the amount of time she took up in the dry dock and that would cut down the cost of the build she was fitted out at a dock nearby whilst on the water.

The Titanic sunk out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, far away from the boundaries or jurisdictions of any cities. The Titanic was supposed to dock in New York, but never made it to it's destination
The vessel was the New York, whose stem was drawn out into the path of Titanic soon after she left the dock on her maiden voyage.
