The battlefields of the Somme are located in Picardy, East of Amiens, in the Somme department, named after the namesake river. The battlefields strech from the village of Chaulgnes on the south side, up to the village of Beaumont-Hamel and cover a wide area in between, especially in the triangle Albert / Péronne / Bapaume.
