The weather channel generally forecasts their own weather using a large team of meteorologists to cover all regions. Radar and satellite images come from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), as do all watches and warnings (they do not issue any of their own).

Local National Weather Service stations use Doppler Radar to find local areas of precipitation, hail, severe weather, etc. that they put on weather maps. If it's a nationwide map it probably came from NOAA which uses satellite and infrared imagery to see precipitation and cloud cover.
