Where did the inspiration for WOODY of Toy Story come from?

Anything could of been it! Maybe they thought of toys coming to life and

acting. They probaly

looked at there kids saw them playing with the toys.

Maybe their kid said, "MY TOY TALKED!" You never know what the creative minds

of Pixar

and Disney will think of next.

The inspiration for Woody came from a Casper the Friendly Ghost doll that Toy Story director John Lasseter had when he was a child. Originally, Woody was a ventriloquist's dummy with a pull-string (hence the name Woody), but all those aspects for Woody were deleted. However, they kept the name Woody to pay homage to Woody Strode, a Hollywood actor.
