The last Nicktoon of Nickelodeon's Golden Age was The Angry Beavers, which premiered in 1997. From then on, it had a few more great shows, like SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Avatar, which premiered in 2005, was the last great Nicktoon. From that point on, Nickelodeon has sucked large. The first Nicktoon to get harsh criticism was probably The Wild Thornberrys, which premiered in 1998, around the time Rugrats turned from good to terrible. Yes, it went downhill for sure, probably at the tail end of the 90s, with not too many good shows around.
The Fairly OddParents began as shorts on Oh Yeah Cartoon! from 1998 to 2001.
The series started in 2001 and lasted until 2006.
It was unofficially cancelled until production began again a year later in 2007.
Contrary to popular belief, it never did. I missed Wishology, but I'm sure it was great. And Poof was actually a great addition to the show with his unusual magical powers.
