The writer of pinocchio is Italian. Florence, Italy. I believe though that Disney adapted a very German style to his dress. Go to any Polish, German bar, and you are likely to find an accordian player wearing similar attire to Pinocchio.

Carlo Collodi, who createe Pinocchio, was Italian, so is he. the name, literally translated means Wooden Eye. As far as I know this was the only Disney cartoon to take place in Italy. the Pinocchio village Haus ( note spelling) in Disneyland, however has a German accent. No live action Disney film took place in the Fair Kingdom, as it once was ( went republican in l946).
