Four more shorts were released after Shemp's passing. Most of the original material in those shorts featured only Moe and Larry and if there was a scene with 'Shemp' he was played by an actor who didn't speak, kept his back to the camera, and wore a hairpiece that looked similar to Shemp's hair style.
