There was a sort of loosely-derived novel that had the Flipper title, but had differently-named characters, a submarine used by smugglers called the(Killer Whale) and was entirely different from the Television show except for the Title character- the names of the family ( Porter Riggs and sons) in the TV show- was changed in the novel. it was publlished by Whitman as I recall and was a real dud. there were no Flipper series novels- a la Trixie Belden, Tom Swift, Hardy Boys....
