Through the 2012 season, the Cleveland Indians have an all-time record of 8,839-8,543.
Luis Tiant struckout out 19 batters in a 10 inning game in 1968 against Minnesota for the all time team record. The record for a 9 inning game is held by Bob Feller who struckout 18 Detroit batters in 1938.
The starting five for the 1954 Cleveland Indians: 1) Early Wynn - 36 starts 2) Mike Garcia - 34 starts 3) Bob Lemon - 33 starts 4) Art Houtteman - 25 starts 5) Bob Feller - 19 starts Others that started at least one game were Don Mossi, Ray Narleski, and Hal Newhouser.
The regular 3rd baseman for the 1954 Cleveland Indians was Al Rosen who played 3rd in 87 games for the American League champions. Rosen hit an even .300, while belting 24 homers and driving in 102 runs for the Tribe, who were swept by the New York Giants in the World Series that was highlighted by Willie May's over the shoulder catch in deep center field in the Polo Grounds off a drive by Indians' first baseman Vic Wertz that many claimed was the turning point of the Series. In addition to Rosen, Rudy Regalado played 3rd base in another 50 games for Cleveland that season. The rest of the regular Indians starters were: 1st base-Wertz; 2nd base-Bobby Avila; SS-George Strickland; 3rd base-Rosen; Of-Dave Philley, Larry Doby, and Al Smith; Catcher-Jim Hegan. The pitching staff inclued Mike Garcia (19-8), Art Houtteman (15-7) and Bob Feller (13-3), plus two of the top relievers of the era, Don Mossi and Ray Narleski. The 1954 Indians set a new American League record by winning 111 games that season to edge out the New York Yankees for the AL pennant. The Yanks won 103 games, the most wins by a 2nd place team in AL history.
I don't know, but I do know the Hudson (MI) Tigers appeared on CBS News when they set the world record for most consecutive wins - 72 - by a High School football team. The record has since been surpassed by Concordia (CA) De La Salle High School, unfortunately.
