actually they are about 180-190 because most great soccer players are 6'3"-6'5"
Sorry..but what the heck are you smoking. I can barely find any great soccer playrs in that range...There are a few that are about 6'2 or 6'1....but the average height is aboiut 5'10 or 11....height doeasnt really make you a better player...But there are certain postitions where it help to be taller and certain ones where its better to be a little shorter...taller players usually are defenders, center backs, goalkeepers...but most forwards, midfildiers tend to about 5'10....althought there are great soccer players which play either position regardless of their height....and as far as weight goes that cant really be determined...i would say the average is about 165 pounds...although there are many who are very well bellow that about 130 and players above that which can weigh as much as 190 pounds...but even those 190 pounders look very slim and athletic just because soccer soccer transforms your body that way and that's why i think soccer is the most well rounded sport in the world..athletes arent overwight refrigirators that are 400 pounds like nfl or they don't weigh 105 like horse jockeys. As long as you have the skill in soccer for all io know you can be 5'6 adn wigh 140 pounds and be the best in the world at the sport (Leonel Messi) (Diego Maradona) (Pele) and many many many more!
How can soccer be the most "well rounded" sport when you aren't using the top half of your body? Soccer players can be slim because 250+ lb linebackers who run the 40 yd dash in 4.5 seconds aren't slamming into them full speed!
The weight of a Rugby player varys a lot between positions. I have put together a little chart here: Position: Av. Weight (kgs): Extra Needs:
Prop 110 Strength Lock/Second Row 110 Strength Hooker 110 Strength, Ability to Hook correctly Flanker 100 Tackling, Strength Number 8 100 Tackling, Strength Halfback/Scrum Half 90 Passing, Speed Wing 85 Speed, Agility First-5/Fly Half 90 Kicking, Passing Second-5/Inside-Centre 90 Passing Centre 100 Speed, Strength Fullback 90 Kicking, Tackling, Speed
It is very dependant on position. A second row can be up to 6ft 10 while a scrum half is 5ft 9. Most backs are around the 5:11-6ft mark and some strike runners can be even bigger. In the pack, the front row are around 6ft with the hookers a little shorter. The back row and locks are usually bigger guys most hitting 6ft 3 or 4.
