The disappearance of the Wicked Witch of the East, the Good Witch's kiss and the magic shoes are early examples of foreshadowing in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."
Specifically, the Wicked Witch of the East disappears with death and leaves behind only her magic shoes. The Good Witch of the North kisses Dorothy Gale on the forehead as protection against injury. She states that no one knows the magic power of the witch's magic shoes but gives them to Dorothy. She also tells Dorothy to stay away from the Wicked Witch of the West, who is a slavedriver.
All of the preceding warn the reader to pay attention to the shoes and the Wicked Witch of the West when trying to second-guess the plot.
The Philosopher's Stone was the start of us understanding Voldemort's desperation for power.

If you are talking about a foreshadow and result in just the first book, the Mirror of Erised. Harry found it and saw his hearts desire. It ended up containing the stone.
An example of foreshadowing, in the book version of The Wizard of Oz, is Dorothy Gale finding the Scarecrow on the pole in the cornfield in the Blue Munchkin Country of the East. She helps him get down. Later on, the Scarecrow is stranded on a pole in the middle of a deep, wide stream. Dorothy helps the Scarecrow, but this time by sending a Stork to pick him up and leave him on the riverbank with his friends Dorothy, her pet dog Toto, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. An example, in the 1939 film version, is Almira Gulch trying to separate Dorothy and Toto, in the beginning Kansas sequences of the movie. She takes the dog away on her bicycle. But unbeknownst to her, Toto manages to get out of the basket and run back to Dorothy. In the dream sequence, the Wicked Witch of the West keeps saying that she's going to cause trouble for Dorothy and Toto. Dorothy and Toto become captives in the Witch's Castle. But unbeknownst to the Witch, Toto manages to escape and run to fetch the help of the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion.
Somewhere over the rainbow is where bluebirds fly. In a bit of foreshadowing, Dorothy Gale sings 'Over the Rainbow' in the beloved 1939 film version of 'The Wizard of Oz'. One of the lines asks why she can't do the same as bluebirds, and fly over the rainbow. Her question gets answered, with the tornado that takes her from Kansas, over the rainbow, and into the beautiful, enchanted, magical lands of Oz.
