There are a total of 5 golden tickets. One is obtained for each round past. There are 5 rounds. The tickets are more of a visual aid--the tickets themselves don't do anything. They just have your name and contestant number on them. When I got mine, I was not allowed to keep it, because you leave the audition room and go into another room where you exchange the ticket for information on how to get to your next audition and so forth. When you are in the running, you are not allowed to leak ANY information about your standing in the competition, where the next auditions are, ect. That means you can not tweat, post on facebook or myspace or on the internet anywhere anything about the competition, or you will be disqualified.
