I don't know about gag rules- but one episode of the Modern ( including the Chipettes) chipmunks is not only freighted with fright but has overtones of sacrilege. It has the harmless sounding title ( Wooly Bully)- The group- the males anyhow- are captured by a head-hunter tribe somewhere in South America, and are tied to trees- cruciform fashion! the Camera angles too obviously suggest Calvary! This is sacrilegious. Of course the Girls come out of nowhere and with rope tricks, untie and rescue the Chipmunks.
