"Dream Catchers, also known as Spider Web Charms, are believed to trap unimportant or bad dreams that float in the air, pretty much the way a spider traps insects that flies into its web."
The dream catcher originated from Native American culture. Dream catcher tattoos are becoming more and more popular, however the actually meaning of a dream catcher is to alter the types of dreams that a person has. Bad dreams are caught in the dream catcher permanently, while good dreams are allowed to pass through. You know your dream catcher is full when you start having bad dreams again.
Many people have personal reasons for getting a dream catcher tattoo, or any tattoo for that matter. Some for cultural reasons, others for personal reasons or experiences. Personally, I have always been prone to horrible dreams. So I have decided to get my dream catcher tattoo somewhere that is close to my head when I sleep.
If you decide to get this type of tattoo, or any tattoo at all, you should have good reasons. Remember that tattoos are permanent and they are not to be chosen lightly. Never get a tattoo just because it will "look cool" or it is currently in "season." Tattoos are an expression of self and should be a representation of who you are or what you've been through. Also, do not opt for "cheaper" tattoo artists. The artist can make the tattoo speak for itself. You want to invest in your tattoos as you would invest in a car or home. Do some research, have a few different tattoo artists draw up sketches for you. Do NOT settle on your tattoo. You should never think of your tattoo as "good enough." It should be as breathtakingly elaborate or as simple as you want it to be.

Hawks have no specific significance in Islam. Hawks have been used as hunting birds by Arabs (and people in Europe, Africa, Asia, and great Britain for thousands of years.) For some Arabs, the hawk might symbolize power.
The Hawk is said to symbolize strength, truth and intuition. The hawk is known as a messenger, the bearer of news.
Wolf represents intelligence, teaching and pathfinding. They embody loyalty, trust and family (pack) cooperation. Hawk represents visionary power and guardianship. Wolf and Hawk are not competitors. Hawk has the more expansive, broader view while wolf teaches the young how to survive. Wolf and Hawk, together, represent ( for me) visionary progress. Forward momentum in the world. Together, they are unbeatable.

Hawk or Falcon is usually seen as a messenger, meaning stay alert, be observant of that which surrounds you. Carrying his claw, is a direct connection to the messenger himself. A number of Native American Shamans I know keep a hawk or falcon claw to help them connect with the spirit messenger.
